Marie. 2021. Painted plaster and ceramic. Life size.

The work was inspired by the 18th century French hairstyle and the IUCN red list of threatened species. Animals and flowers presented in the work are painted as close to reality as possible. The work is about the loss of biodiversity.

In Marie’s hair can be found threatened/common flowers found in the nature and gardens and also flowers created by artist’s imagination.

Animals in the work: European eel (EN), Mandarin duck (LC), Guam kingfisher (EW), Reticulate collared lizard (VU), Golden poison frog (EN), Burmese python (VU), Scarse copper (LC) and Violet copper (EN).
